And sometimes, courage is quiet instead of loud. It is about continuing on even when you don’t feel like you can. Courage is about having the strength to face your fears and overcome them. It is so easy to think of courage as something that is simply the absence of fear, but it is much more than that. I found these two quotes on courage very interesting and thought provoking. ![]() So make your choices wisely, because they could very well determine your destiny. ![]() What we do in life determines where we end up. In the end, we all have control over our own fate. This difference highlights the way that the World State’s culture is focused on pleasure and satisfaction, whereas our world is more focused on restraint and avoiding potential harm. This is in contrast to our world, where children are not expected to have sex and it would be seen as inappropriate if they did. Young children are expected to have sex as part of their play and the caretakers are surprised, and think something must be wrong, if there is a child that does not want to participate. The use of irony in this novel demonstrates the degree to which the culture in the World State differs from our world. This experience led him to learn Braille, and ultimately gave him a new perspective on the world. However, when he was 16, he suffered from an eye infection that left him nearly blind for two years. Huxley was born into a scientific family and seemed destined to follow in their footsteps. He urges us to be aware of the potential dangers of unchecked capitalism, and to take steps to prevent them from having a negative impact on our lives. He argues that this future New World shares many similarities with our current society, and that this is a cause for concern. Huxley is warning us that the expansion and development of a capitalist ideology can have harmful effects on society. Lastly, the government works to promote stability by maintaining a strong economy and keeping the social order in place. They also work to create a strong sense of identity by promoting the use of uniformity and conformity. The government strives to create a sense of community by promoting social cohesion and encouraging people to interact with each other. These are the three main goals of the government, and most of their policies and actions revolve around these three concepts. The government of the World State in Brave New World works to promote community, identity, and stability. I am determined to win this contest, not only because I don’t want to get married yet, but also because I want to show everyone that I am just as good as a man. This is a Scottish tradition, and it means that I will compete in a archery contest, with the winner getting to marry me. So instead of getting married, I am going to shoot for my own hand. I want to experience life first, and find my own way. But I am not interested in getting married just yet. I am officially of age, and in my culture, that means I am now eligible to marry.
